Named after the beloved Manhattan Beach pier minutes from the office, Conor and Jillian founded Pier Asset Management in 2017 after recognizing opportunities in the non-bank lending ecosystem. The firm has since evolved to fill the gap in offerings provided to growth-stage originators who require credit products to scale their businesses. Pier has funded over $500 million in credit since inception.

Jillian manages the firm and heads business development. Prior to founding Pier, Jillian was EVP of Capital Markets at Patch Lending and an investment banker at Houlihan Lokey. Jillian has completed the Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, and Series 79 examinations, and is a former board member at Endeavor Bank. Jillian is a graduate of the Loyola Marymount University Honors Program and has a B.S. in Accounting and a B.B.A. in Finance.
Conor oversees investment activities at Pier, drawing on over 20 years of experience in credit. Prior to joining Pier, Conor was a Managing Director at Evolution Capital where he managed a set of high yield, consumer, and small business credit funds. Conor completed the Series 65 examination and earned his B.S.E. in Computer Science from Princeton University.
Kevin is a member of the investment team and primarily focuses on underwriting new deal opportunities as well as managing Pier's existing credit facility portfolio. Kevin joined Pier in 2021 from Amegy Bank where he structured upper middle market corporate debt facilities and acquisition financing as an Assistant Vice President. He graduated with a dual Finance/Entrepreneurship major from Baylor University as a Provost Gold Scholar.
Jonathan is a Vice President at Pier Asset Management, where he is responsible for operations, infrastructure, compliance, and special projects. Prior to joining the firm in 2022, Jonathan was COO of Finli, Inc., a Techstars-backed payments company. Prior to Finli, Jonathan ran non-lending operations at Patch of Land and managed new product launches and infrastructure projects at Oaktree Capital Management. He graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
As a member of the investment team, Brandon focuses on analytical support and deal analysis for capital market positions and secondary portfolios. Prior to joining Pier in 2023, Brandon was an actuarial analyst for Bickmore Actuarial and an analyst for Thrifty Oil Company. He graduated with a dual Finance and Economics majors from Baylor University having received the President’s Gold Scholarship.
Leon is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting at Pier Asset Management. Prior to joining Pier in 2022, Leon was at Clearlake Capital Group, a private equity firm and Canyon Partners, a hedge fund, where he oversaw accounting and financial operations for various open-ended and closed-ended funds. He was also at Ernst & Young where he was responsible for tax compliance and consulting engagements. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Mathematics/Economics and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
